Hey, I'm David.

I'm a Software Engineer & Business Owner based in Arizona; I build products that take complicated things and make them simple.

About Me

I like building things that bring clarity—especially when it involves logistics or systems thinking in any form. Whether it’s product design, engineering, or operations, I’m usually working to turn messy, complex problems into something clear, functional, and efficient.

“An idiot admires complexity, a genius admires simplicity" — Terry A. Davis

A lot of what I do involves helping teams or businesses go from idea to launch. Sometimes that means building apps or websites. Other times, it’s reworking operations, helping set goals and track metrics, or creating tools that help people do their jobs better. I’m a big fan of clean architecture, smooth developer experience, and giving people the clarity they need to move quickly.

What I’m Working On

Most of my time is spent building software, leading small development teams, and exploring the role software plays in developing strong companies. I’m especially into backend tooling, automations, and interfaces that enable people to work with the highest possible leverage.

Lately, I’ve also been working with ministries and nonprofit teams to help them get clarity around their goals and build the systems, habits, and workflows that actually support them. Sometimes that means setting up internal tools or processes—other times it’s just helping untangle how things are currently being done and finding a smoother way forward.

"But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you." — Matthew 6:33

How I Think

I try to approach business (and most other things) as a system. Once you understand the principles that govern the system, you'll often find significant overlap with things you've already done. It's a flexible mindset that allows you to adapt quickly and build a repertoire of solutions that can be applied to a wide range of problems.

“Tell me how you measure me, and I will tell you how I will behave.” — Eliyahu M. Goldratt

I pull a lot of my ideas from scripture, Theory of Constraints, and Lean thinking. I've found that the best ideas don't stay in their lane — and most innovators don't either. I try to draw ideas from wherever I can find them — including product design, supply chain logistics, economic theory, and even art and music. If an idea helps people work better together and make better decisions, it’s fair game.

Other Stuff

When I’m not building things, I’m usually reading, writing, or exploring some new concept in business or technology. I also enjoy coffee, making music, and collecting cool books.
